Delay Pay

Late flight? You could be owed €600

Airlines flying in Europe and the UK owe you up to €600 or £520 when you land 3 hours late, lose your flight at short notice or get bumped. Canada pays up to C$1,000 for a delay and C$2,400 if you’re bumped. Check your flight in 30 seconds, then send the claim yourself with a letter that cites the law. Claim companies keep a quarter to half of the payout for sending that same letter.

What happened?

How late did you reach your final destination?

Count from the scheduled arrival to when the doors opened at the gate. Missed a connection? Count the delay at your final stop.

Airlines only escape paying for genuinely extraordinary events, and they have to prove it.
